Renovation Kids Ministry

It has been a full year since we have been able to gather physically for worship. During that time, every ministry area has undergone assessment and change to facilitate more discipleship. Renovation Kids is no exception. We sat down with our new Director of Renovation Kids, Dr. Sam Crowley, to learn more about what is on the horizon. Below is a small snippet of the conversation. Click here to read the full interview.

Q: Tell us some more about the changes and additions that will help RKM partner with parents.

A: I’m excited about this question. Number 1 is communication. When I came on staff, I would say communication was my greatest weakness. It’s hard, man. We’re all inundated with so much, so it’s actually really understandable that the answer is more complicated than just sending out a big email with all the important information. We are currently in the process (with the skilled assistance of one Molly Berg) of building a “Parent’s Hub” where all things RKM are posted and updated constantly. We’re also reworking databases and creating a parent’s-only communication lane. Part of the overarching “Communication Machine” will be the incorporation of some new curriculum elements, with some things that are specially designed for that day-to-day partnership. Even though none of these things are especially new or innovative by industry standards, together, I believe they are quite innovative. I’m a creative at heart, a songwriter. But I’ve learned that true innovation often comes from unique pairings rather than original creation outright. Now that I’m outside my wheelhouse, I’m relying on our unique team’s perspective and excellent, established resources to cultivate what I believe will be a truly special thing.

Sharing Our Faith · Friend of Sinners

This past Sunday, we began a three-part series examining Jesus’ relationship with people far from God. Jesus came to seek and save the lost, and His new family has the same mission. Knowing this Easter is a unique opportunity to invite people to discover the hope of Jesus, we have put together a collection of resources to help you engage your friends and family who are far from God. We hope that these options, along with active prayer, will help you follow after Jesus in His pursuit of those who are far from Him.

  • Watch Parties on Netflix/Hulu/Disney

  • Zoom Coffee - Send someone $5 on Venmo/Cashapp/GrubHub for coffee and say you want to meet them over facetime/zoom.

  • Online Gaming

  • Outdoor Cookout

  • Zoom Dinner: Send food to someone’s house on Grubhub and have dinner over zoom

  • Walkthrough the park.

  • Choose your Easter experience based upon what those you are evangelizing would prefer. “I want to go to church with you this Easter. Here are the ways my church is doing Easter, which one works best for you.”

  • Reach out to family members: Call, email, send a text, etc.

  • Fasting and prayer. Commit the next four weeks to intentional fasting and prayer for your friends and family

  • Hiking Trips. (March is the start of warmer weather)

  • Volunteer at a local establishment (preferably non-Christian)
Ex: Habitat For Humanity. It makes sense to share the Gospel while serving others.

Communication Update

Here is our last update: some changes are coming to our communication. For that, we hand it over to Pastor Doug.

Highlights from Pastor Doug’s update video.

  • Youtube is our home for preaching, worship, music, and announcement video content. Subscribe and click the bell icon to get notified.

  • The podcast will be available on Youtube for video. Apple Podcast, Spotify, and Google Podcasts for audio. It will be available the Monday following the airdate of the sermon.

  • We are archiving all of our sermon series pre-2020 and will begin releasing them in the future as discipleship courses and training.

  • Social Media is no longer a form of communication for Renovation Church. Subscribe to our email list, join a small group, join our Facebook Group

That wraps up this month’s updates. Make sure that you subscribe to our email list for our weekly ways to propel your discipleship.
