This Week At Renovation | April 20, 2022
Hey Folks,
So I’ll be writing the TWAR for you this week. Since Pastor Doug usually does this, I think I’ll channel my best Enneagram 7 (joy/spasticity) so the tone is closer to what you’re used to. Ahem…
Hey, Hey, HEY Good People!
Last Sunday, we concluded Holy Week with a wonderful Easter celebration. I was blown away by how the context of the rest of the week impacted Good Friday and Easter, and I loved experiencing it with you all. It was an opportunity to press in, and I believe we made the most of it. This week, as always (but with a fresh reminder), we get the chance to walk in the Resurrection power of Jesus. And we’ll be kicking off a new series to boot. Let’s get it.
It made a massive difference to have you all there a few minutes earlier (call time was 9:50a). Never underestimate how much you can impact the atmosphere of a room with your own expectancy. On Easter, the tradition is to get a fresh cut, buy a new outfit and look your best. I believe this isn’t just pageantry or tradition. There’s a beauty to thinking ahead, getting all the details in place and doing everything in your power to BRING YOUR BEST. And that expectant mindset shouldn’t be reserved for just one day. Let’s make a practice of coming early. You might be surprised by how God uses YOU to bless our church, even on a day where you’re not scheduled to serve.
Another thing! A massive THANK YOU to everyone who parked on the tennis court to make more space for our guests. If you came early and expectant AND parked further away on purpose, your actions showed genuine love and consideration of others and genuine hope in a God who is REAL. Amen. Let’s send those messages every week.
The next note is directly related to the last two. We’ve noticed that no one wants to sit on the front two rows of the middle section. I get it. My spot was behind the pillar on the back left in my college days. It was the cool spot and a good place to make a quick getaway if needed. Well, imagine if you–our key ambassadors–intentionally spent time worshipping and filling up throughout the week IN ORDER TO sit in the front and expressively lead our people in corporate worship—it WILL CHANGE THE ATMOSPHERE for everyone! Let’s commit to it together!
Whew. That does it. It’s exhausting being Doug when you’re not Doug. God bless you all!

Free99Fridge
Hey Church!
For the Spring 2022 Small Group Semester we have partnered with Free99Fridge to help fill up community refrigerators around the city. Free99Fridge is an Atlanta-based grassroots organization committed to fighting for food justice & addressing the needs of our neighbors through mutual aid. They provide high quality produce and non-perishable food at no cost to anyone who wants or needs it via the community fridge network. Their community fridges are stocked and maintained by volunteers, growers, and local businesses who see value in supporting the community. This is a community-run, community-backed effort. A crew of volunteers make this project what it is. They are a solution-oriented collective aiming to build up community and end food disparities in Atlanta one fridge at a time.
If you would like to support our Small Group Leaders and Members please consider donating the following items listed below:
• shelf stable food items (snacks, ready-to-make meals, canned food, cereal, rice, etc)
• bottled or can drinks (Gatorade, sodas, water)
• hygiene items (tampons, pads, hand sanitizer, soap)

Give God Your First And Your Best (APEST)
God’s story of redemption is told through the generosity of his people. We are reminded of that truth every time we see the impact that your ministry has on a child of God.
