This Week At Renovation | June 1, 2022
Beautiful People,
What a fantastic couple of weeks it has been. The stories of how impactful our Mental Health panel and Q&A’s were keep coming in. We say it all the time, “everything is an experiment.” Not knowing exactly how these two weeks would go, the team leaned into trying something different in hopes our church finding more freedom. It seems the Spirit has been kind to us. If you could not join us in person or online these last two Sundays, you can check both panels out on our Youtube Page.
We have been working with several organizations to continue to be a church for our city. As well as SMALL GROUPS!!! In today’s TWAR, I am on ten about several of these announcements.
Your summer semester of small groups is open for registration.
The beginning of each small groups semester is always fun for me as I love seeing the creativity and interests of our church. We’ve got the return of some bangers such as Grit and Grace and several brand new ones; a breakfast club is starting up: Club 820. We’ve got a gaming group starting: Play Thy Neighbor. Side Note: I am really into these naming schemes.
To see the whole list check out the small group registry below.
So less talking, more registering. With that, on to the TWAR.
I love yall. I will see you soon.

Summer Small Groups
A story from a small group from last semester.
The prayer small group was truly amazing! At the time I joined this group I was going through some difficult life changes and this group gave me the support I needed to face them. I also learned how to incorporate prayer on a daily basis to help combat stress and anxiety. I would recommend this group to anyone going through a difficult situation, or to anyone who wants to understand the basics of prayer in a safe, thought provoking and uplifting environment.
KAA Summer Kamp | July 18-22
Kids Across America will be using our Water Place property to host a week-long summer camp. Each day the KAA staff will have organized sports and adventure activities for children ages 9-13. The summer camp is daily from July 18-22. This is an amazing opportunity for children to hear the Good News of Jesus and have a great time OUTSIDE!

Our Happiness Hinges On the Story We Tell Ourselves (Part 1)
(An excerpt from this weeks blog)
At the close of 1938, Europe was on the brink of war. Hitler's intent to "cleanse Europe" of all Jewish people was cemented, and the infamous Munich pact or Munich agreement essentially gave Hitler carte blanche to march his armies into Czechoslovakia.
Enter Nicholas Winton, a twenty-nine-year-old stockbroker from London. Shortly before Christmas 1938, Winton planned to travel to Switzerland for a skiing holiday. Following a call for help from Marie Schmolka and Doreen Warriner, he decided instead to visit Prague and help Martin Blake, who was in Prague as an associate of the British Committee for Refugees from Czechoslovakia, then in the process of being occupied by Germany.
His timing was critical. Violence against Jewish people was escalating all over Europe. As Hitler's armies entered Prague, violence, property seizures, and deportation of the Czech Jewish community to concentration camps were almost immediate.
Winton succeeded, thanks to the guarantees he had obtained from Britain. After the first train, the process of crossing the Netherlands went smoothly. Winton ultimately found homes in Britain for 669 children, many of whose parents would perish in the Auschwitz concentration camp.
Over just a few months, Winton, a sort of saviour for these children, was able to change the lives and the stories of six hundred and sixty-nine children, many of whose parents, other relatives, and friends would die in the Auschwitz concentration camp.

Give God Your First And Your Best (APEST)
God’s story of redemption is told through the generosity of his people. We are reminded of that truth every time we see the impact that your ministry has on a child of God.
